East Gosford Specialists is a private billing clinic. Payment is required at the conclusion of your appointment. A discounted fee is offered to Pension and Health Care Card holders. We do not routinely bulk bill or support “gap payments”.

We lodge an electronic claim on your behalf with Medicare at the conclusion of the visit, providing you have a valid GP referral (within 12 months). Families whose banking details are registered with Medicare are refunded directly into their nominated account, usually the next business day.

A summary of our fees for Paediatric services, effective 1 January 2025 is provided below. Charges reflect the complexity and length of consultation:

Please contact us if out of pocket costs are prohibitive and we will always try to ensure your child’s medical needs are met.

Some services are ineligible for Medicare rebate, and may include:

• Consultations where the patient is not in attendance
• Consultations where no valid referral is provided
• Cancellation fees with insufficient/no notice
• Script requests where the patient is not seen
• Completion of forms and reports
• Requests for additional letters/correspondence outside of an appointment
• Some telephone consultations

Late Cancellation and failure to attend

East Gosford Specialists always try to assist families with appointment reminders via SMS or phone. We do ask that you take note of your appointment date when making the appointment and contact us to reschedule if you are no longer able to attend, and we understand unexpected changes happen.

Our clinicians have long waiting lists and failure to attend an appointment prevents the time being given to another child or family who needs to be seen.

We will make every attempt to accommodate late changes in appointment, but a cancellation fee of $150 may be charged (at the discretion of your doctor) if appointments are not attended or changed within 2 business days. Payment of any cancellation fee must be addressed prior to further appointments being made.
