Dr Alison Lyons
Dr Alison Lyons is a General Physician and Haematologist, specialising in disorders of the blood and bone marrow, including malignancies such as leukaemia, myeloma and lymphoma. Alison graduated from medicine at Sydney University in 2001, then worked as a junior doctor on the Central Coast before returning to Sydney to complete her specialist physician training at Royal Prince Alfred and Liverpool Hospitals. Alison was accepted into the Royal Australasian College of Physicians as a General Physician in 2009 and became a Specialist Haematologist in 2010 following her acceptance into the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA).
Alison works as a Consultant Haematologist at both Gosford District Hospital and Gosford Private Hospital, as well as seeing patients in her East Gosford rooms. She has a special interest in malignant haematology. Alison is a passionate advocate for her patients, aiming to combine best practice care with perspective, humour and kindness.
She lives on the Central Coast with her 2 school aged children and paediatrician husband Damon Shorter.
