Dr John A Lawson B.Med FRACP PhD Neurologist

John has extensive experience in helping children with brain disorders, his key expertise is in the diagnosis and management of young people with Epilepsy. Particular focus is in diagnosis with EEG and MRI, new treatments including medicinal cannabis, comprehensive medical and surgical evaluation and Tuberous Sclerosis.
John has had 30 years+ experience in assisting children with cerebral palsy, complex headache, movement disorders, immune disorders of the brain and intellectual disability. He worked for many years as a Staff Specialist Neurologist at the Sydney Children’s Hospital, and has a VMO appointment with Central Coast Local Health District.
Young people with suspected nerve and muscle disorders, chronic headache, primary learning and behavioural disorders (e.g. ADHD) are best managed by other specialists.
John’s Central Coast Clinic is for tertiary neurology and requires a referral from a General Paediatrician.
